National Allied Health Scientific Technical Informatics Group (NAHSTIG)

National Allied Health, Scientific and Technical Informatics Group (NAHSTIG)

The National Allied Health, Scientific and Technical Informatics Group (NAHSTIG) was founded to provide a space where passionate clinicians could share ideas, collaborate and achieve positive outcomes for their workforce and consumers. HiNZ provides secretariat services to support NAHSTIG.

Purpose

To provide a forum for a community of allied health, scientific and technical staff who have an interest in, a role for or oversight of digital health, data and informatics in the health and disability system.  As a forum we are inclusive of all cultures, recognising that New Zealand is a bi-cultural community. We are committed to our obligations under Te Tiriti  (Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora) and are aligned in our strategic focus with the principles of Whakamaua - Māori Health Action Plan (2020).

Objectives

By coming together the group intends to:

  • create opportunities to develop, share and implement digital innovations
  • demonstrate leadership, for and on behalf of the workforce - by advocating, advising and educating
  • deliver tangible outcomes to influence policy, systems and practice
