SECTOR UPDATE - Orion Health Orion Health has appointed Chris Lucas as Vice President APAC, placing a leader with deep expertise in its clinical software in charge of the business across Australia, New Zealand and wider Asia-Pacific. Lucas has spent more than 20 years at Orion Health and most recently led its Shared Care Record and Interoperability product suites, including the portals and digital care record technology clinicians use to bring together patient information from different systems. In his new role, Lucas takes end-to-end responsibility for Orion Health’s APAC business, bringing together Sales, Services, and Support across the region.
Orion Health CEO Brad Porter said Lucas’ deep product background is a particular strength for customers.
“Chris knows these products inside out, from how they are developed to how they need to perform in clinical settings. This understanding will help us respond to our customers’ changing needs.”
“APAC is an important region for Orion Health, with strong foundations and significant opportunities across Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia. Chris is exceptionally well placed to bring our teams together and lead the next stage of growth,” said Porter.
Orion Health has been leading the conversation across APAC on the transformative potential of National Shared Care Records, demonstrating how a fully connected clinical portal can be a game changer for clinicians, replacing fragmented, siloed information with a comprehensive view of a patient’s health journey. Lucas brings a unique perspective to this conversation, he led the development and delivery of Orion Health’s Clinical Portal and Amadeus suite of products, giving him the hands-on experience and deep technical understanding to provide trusted, practical advice to customers as they look to transform their healthcare systems.
“I understand the importance of reliable access to patient information and of continuing to improve the technology in response to clinical needs.”
“I’m looking forward to bringing that experience into a broader role, working closely with our customers and bringing our Sales, Services and Support teams together to deliver what they need,” said Lucas.
Lucas will spend the coming months meeting with Orion Health teams, customers and prospective partners across Australia and New Zealand, while continuing to support key projects across the wider region.
