SECTOR UPDATE - University of Auckland

AI & Mental Health Survey poster

Can you help us reach young people for a nationwide survey on generative AI and mental health?

Researchers at the University of Auckland are conducting a nationwide study exploring how young New Zealanders aged 16–24 are using (or not using!) generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for mental health and wellbeing support, and what they think about these technologies.

The survey is for ALL young people aged 16–24 residing in NZ, regardless of whether they have used AI for mental health purposes or have any lived experience of mental health difficulties. All perspectives are important!

Could you help spread the word? If you work with young people, please share the survey link, display the attached poster in your waiting room or another space frequented by young people, or simply mention the study to anyone who might be interested.

Recruitment is open until December 2026, and participation is entirely voluntary.

The study is being undertaken under the supervision of Associate Professor Karolina Stasiak at the University of Auckland and has ethics approval (AH32006).
