Waikato DHB is working with Advanced Management Systems and Revera to deliver an end-to-end cloud solution for its workforce management, payroll and HR functions.

The new system, Leader, will be in place by mid-2020 and means DHB staff will get electronic payslips for the first time.

AMS’s Workforce as a Service platform for health replaces Waikato’s current systems Peoplesoft, Customer Portal and Org Plus.

It will integrate with One Staff and Amion for time and attendance and the National Oracle Solution for financial reporting.

Waikato DHB chief financial officer Andrew McCurdie says, “We pay a staff of more than 7,000 and there are many different union agreements and individual employment agreements.

“The new AMS system will manage this unavoidable complexity more smoothly, whilst significantly reducing the cost and complexity of processing pay,” he says.

AMS has partnered with Revera to deliver the cloud solution and implementation planning has begun.

AMS chief executive Joseph Yip says while the contract will initially bring benefits for patients and staff within the Waikato region, AMS has a national vision for improvements that support a stronger health workforce.

“AMS has a vision to deliver the benefits across all DHBs in New Zealand, to ultimately achieve greater health outcomes for the whole country,” he says.
