In an increasingly digital world, Kiwis are seeking to be empowered to manage their health and wellness with a range of digital health technologies.  Having trust in digital health tools is an important as the trust that exists between patients and providers today.  
Digital Trust is a key enabler as the health system transforms to become more patient centric: equally Digital Trust can be a barrier to a future patient centric health system.

 Spark Health
 Sarah Auva’a is the Lead Digital Trust Partner at Spark New Zealand where she is responsible for designing privacy, legal compliance and governance strategies and frameworks that enable customer trust. Experience in telecommunications, digital services, data analytics, banking and regulatory sectors has shaped Sarah’s interest in unlocking the value of data in an ethical way.
 Sarah is an International Council Member for InfoGovANZ.  Sarah was also a member of the New Zealand Law Foundation’s Information Law and Policy Project’s independent specialist Advisory Review Committee. The Committee assisted the Law Foundation to select and refine research projects for Foundation funding in areas such as global information, cyber-security, data exploitation, and technology-driven social change.
 
 Sarah has previously worked at ANZ Banking Group and the New Zealand Commerce Commission.  She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Victoria University, Wellington, and is a Certified Compliance Professional.

 Karl currently works as the Chief Clinical Information Officer at healthAlliance, as well as being a GP. He has worked in various clinical, informatics, strategic and operational roles, over the last 10 years. Karl serves as a board member on several regional and commercial clinical advisory boards. Karl served in the NZ Defence Force as a Medical Officer for 15 years, involving deployments to UN missions, and was clinical director for the NZDF fully integrated EHR. He gained fellowship with the Royal NZ College GPs in 2004.
 Karl believes gaining HINZ fellowship helps validate Health Informatics as a discrete profession within the health ecosystem. Workforce development of these essential skills and competencies is vital for the future of healthcare. A transformed and patient centred healthcare system will not be possible without a strong and fit for purpose Health Informatician workforce.
