Robyn Whittaker Clinical Director of Innovation Waitemata District Health Board
Robyn Whittaker is a public health physician and Associate Professor at the National Institute for Health Innovation at the University of Auckland. She is Clinical Director of Innovation at Waitemata District Health Board where she leads the Leapfrog Programme of strategic projects focused on digitising hospital systems. Her research interests are in developing and evaluating mHealth interventions that use behaviour change theory and techniques to help support healthy behaviour change and self-management support for patient groups. She is an invited member of the WHO Digital Health Technical Advisory Committee, WHO Committee on Ethics and Governance in AI for Health, management team of the MedTech Centre of Research Excellence, National Telehealth Leadership Group, Ministry of Health’s Digital Investment Board and Business Design Council.

Will Reedy CEO Spark Health
As Spark Health CEO I work in the Business and Consumer Clusters (exec team) to focus on Health and Life Sciences (Health, Disability, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Health Insurance). Health and Life Sciences is the first true industry vertical capability established in Spark.
In this role I am responsible for:
- Leading New Zealand's largest digital health services provider
- Delivering Spark Health and Wellness Vision and Strategy
- Leading the Spark Health Squad in providing input into health and life science industry solutions across Spark Group
- Supporting key customers on their digital transformation journey to deliver better health outcomes
- Maintaining and developing key relationships with customers and partners
- Providing strategic advice to key customers
- Working with the Leadership Squad to consider acquisition and investment opportunities
I also continue to work as a doctor one day a week at Counties Manukau District Health Board.

Malcolm Pollock CEO Second Opinion
Malcolm has worked in the digital health sector for more than 30 years. He was one of the four founders of Health Informatics New Zealand (HINZ) and served on their Board for a number of years. He was a co-founder of the industry body, NZHIT, and served as Board member and subsequently Chair. He was for seven years, Director of the National Institute for Health Innovation at the University of Auckland. He also established and Chaired the National Telehealth Foundation (now the Telehealth Leadership Group). He researched and published new approaches to procurement and consulted on this subject to both the New Zealand and Queensland governments. He authored the recently launched NZHIT report ‘Enabling a Healthier Aotearoa New Zealand’.

Ryl Jensen General Manager NZHIT
Ryl Jensen has taken the new position of General Manager of NZHIT. Ryl comes with a background in IT having previously worked for the likes of IBM, EDS, and Merrill Lynch HSBC in London. She worked in Customer Relationship Management and Disaster Recovery, responsible for Service Level Agreements and Service Delivery Management. She has a strong customer focus and is passionate about health policy, research, and helping people. Ryl has been active in the Health and Disability Sector for a number of years, firstly being an advocate for women’s health and then later for digital interoperability. At a Government level she has written and contributed to health policy. She has a strong passion for the health sector, in particular digital health, and how it can be a key enabler to improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery. She is currently completing her final year of her Masters of Health at Victoria University, with a focus on health policy, planning, and systems structures. Ryl was one of three main contributors to NZHIT’s Health Opportunities Report Hauora, Mauri Ora: Enabling a Healthier Aotearoa New Zealand.
