Moving healthcare data to the cloud: do’s and don’ts

12:30pm to 1:30pm, Wednesday 16th June

Spark Health logo

On paper, digital health business and technology transformation sounds like an easy enough concept – harness existing technological innovations to enhance the health and well-being of individuals. The reality, however, is something more complex and extensive given health systems across the world are complex adaptive systems in themselves.

The pressure is mounting on health organisations, large, medium and small, public and private to deliver on the promises of this future health system. Cloud technology has been identified by all DHBs to support key clinical and non-clinical applications across the sector to enable better outcomes for patients. The Department of Internal Affairs is also working to accelerate the rate of cloud adoption by government agencies, saying it should be utilised in preference to traditional IT systems.

Moving to a cloud based consumption model will be a significant shift for many health organisations in the way information services are managed. The benefits of Cloud may not be the same for every health organisation, as each is different and will have different objectives. The most important step is to first understand these objectives and weigh them against the perceived benefits and costs of different cloud services.

This webinar will use real life examples and learnings of cloud adoption from the health sector, and explores the many benefits to moving to cloud services to deliver better health outcomes.
