FAQ Webcast Library

A webcast shows you a video of the speaker and the presentation slides simultaneously, so you can see and hear what the conference audience does. It is easily viewable on your computer, tablet or smartphone.

You can use the webcast library search engine to find relevant topics without having to watch an entire session. When you click on the search result, you’ll be taken directly to the point in the presentation where the keyword was shown.

Probably. It works fine on most phones and computers. But you can check the specific system requirements on this page.

Yes, we have some open-access channels you can view, to get an insight into what the webcast library is like to use. Go to the quick links section at the bottom of the webcast home page.

Access FAQ

WATCH a short video that explains member access and shows clips of the webcast library.

The webcast library is a member-only service. To login you will need your HiNZ username (usually your email) and your HiNZ password. If you can't remember your password, ask the system to reset it for you.  If you still can't login, please email assistant@hinz.org.nz and we will manually reset your password.

If you are being redirected to the login page it means that your username/password are incorrect and are being rejected by the webcast library. To reset your HiNZ member password, login to the HiNZ website, and ask to reset it. Then try again with the webcast library login.

If the HiNZ website is rejecting your username, try a different email address or email us to request your HiNZ member username/password.

If you have any other difficulties logging in please email webcast@hinz.org.nz

Technical FAQ

If you are having problems viewing the webcast, please email the technical help desk at support@gigtv.co.nz or email webcast@hinz.org.nz

This is a javascript error, and depending on the browser type, it may get debugged or it may not. It won't affect viewing, however changing browsers can resolve the issue.

Sessions FAQ

There is no live stream being offered in 2023. Our AV supplier aims to have presentation videos available to view on-demand in the webcast library, within 2-3 working days of the speaker's time slot on the conference programme.

Yes. All HiNZ members automatically get full access to all sessions in the conference webcast library for the term of their membership. PLUS you also get other member benefits. If you aren't a HiNZ member - join HiNZ now.

No, the webcast does not allow this. The only way you can access a speaker's slides is to ask the speaker to send you the slides directly. To email the speaker, if you don't know their email address, use the conference app message function.
