SECTOR UPDATE - Personify Care MercyAscot hospitals are set to significantly improve patient experience and operational efficiency with the rollout of Personify Care’s innovative patient engagement platform. This cutting-edge digital solution is anticipated to benefit up to 19,000 patients across MercyAscot’s multiple sites.
The new platform enables patients to securely complete their pre-admission registration online prior to their visit, eliminating the need for physical paper forms and streamlining the check-in process. Sarah Gardner, General Manager of Transformation and Business Improvement at MercyAscot, emphasised the advantages of this transition. “By offering a digital check-in option, we have eliminated the need for physical paper distribution and the cumbersome process of scanning and mailing completed forms. The real-time submission of patient data to our pre-admissions team enhances processing speed and supports our commitment to environmental sustainability,” said Ms. Gardner. Pre-admissions are the first patient pathways to be digitised at MercyAscot, aiming to refine the patient admission experience for around 19,000 individuals. The platform gathers essential patient information before their hospital visit, supports clinical workflows, and alerts admission nurse teams to high-risk patients requiring additional follow-ups. “This digital approach replaces a manual process that relied on emails and phone calls for clinical review, payment, and insurance collection. By automating these tasks, our platform will enhance operational efficiency, reduce stress for patients, and support our staff in delivering exceptional care,” Ms. Gardner explained. Since its launch in early July, over 310 patients have utilised the digital pathway, showing promising early results in both staff efficiency and patient satisfaction.
