of the challenges and benefits of these projects. Michael Dreyer will present on the Ministry of Health’s cloud transformation journey.

Ken Kirkland’s IT career spans 36 years starting at BHP and moving across organisations Texaco UK, ESSO Australia, Telstra Yellow Pages, EDS, HPE in various IT Operations, Business and Account Management roles. Currently the ICT Director within Digital Health, SA Health. Responsible for the IT Operations core services (Service Desk, End User Computing, Service Management, Applications, Network, Infrastructure services and Cyber security), providing services to the South Australian State Local Health Networks and SA Ambulance Services. 44,000 users, 400 locations, Metropolitan Hospitals and Country Hospitals.

Russell Craig National Chief Technology Officer Microsoft NZ
Russell Craig is Microsoft New Zealand’s National Technology Officer (NTO). Based in Wellington, he works with both public and private sector stakeholders on matters related to technology strategy and policy. In his role, Russell focuses on helping customers understand and realise the broad transformational opportunities enabled by Microsoft’s cloud platform. He also works with policy makers and regulators requiring assurance about cloud services and advanced technologies, drives opportunities for cloud-enabled innovation, and addresses matters related to cybersecurity at both a customer and national level. Russell is currently a board member of the NZ Health IT Industry Association and has been an Executive Councillor of the Artificial Intelligence Forum of New Zealand since its foundation.

Leon Sayers APAC Consulting Lead Unisys
Leon is the APAC Regional Lead Management Consultant at Unisys. He specialises in Infrastructure, Hybrid Cloud, Workspace, ITSM, Data Management and Automation. He has over 25 years of experience working in ICT. Leon has a particular area
of focus in helping organisations in their transformation journey, by turning strategy into reality. As the Lead Management Consultant in the development of Digital Transformation projects, he has developed deep, first-hand insight
into how organisations can leverage technology to achieve improved efficiencies, employee cultural change, enhanced productivity and performance. He has a passion for taking an organisational change management approach that spans people,
processes and technology. He has recently completed Digital Transformation projects with a State Government health agency and Local Health Districts. He has delivered and worked on large scale transformation projects in APAC, USA,
Europe, Middle East, South Africa and South America.

Michael Dreyer GM of National Digital Services Ministry of Health
Michael Dreyer is the GM of National Digital Services in the Ministry of Health. The team provide shared national health systems such as the National Health Index, Payments and the Immunisation Register. During the Covid response Michael
was the Co-Manager of the Contact Tracing Service and lead the work to implement the new National Contact Tracing Solution. He’s recently moved focus onto supporting the work at the border around Managed Isolation and Quarantine. Prior
to his current role he worked for ten years at Contact Energy, finishing as Acting General Manager ICT where he lead a migration to cloud services. |
