Topic: Transforming cancer care: co-designing chemotherapy prescribing and administration software
12:30pm to 1:30pm, Wednesday 14 August 2024
Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Northern region collaborated with Valentia Technologies to develop and implement an integrated, cloud-based oncology and haematology e-prescribing and administration solution.
Raurau Ngaehe was built over four years with around 50 developers from Valentia working alongside 10 clinical experts from haematology, oncology, and paediatrics.
The system is fully integrated with other healthcare ecosystems in NZ and has been designed using SNOMED CT for data capture and FHIR for near real-time data exchange, making it the first CanShare standard system in NZ.
Raurau Ngaehe ensures business continuity by design, allowing ongoing patient care during disasters by providing near real-time updates of patient charts, treatment summaries, and pharmacy orders.
This webinar will explore the unique approach to developing Raurau Ngaehe, benefits of the cloud-based integrated technology, the clinical response and what it enables for patient care.
