Synopsis

Codesigning health: prototyping physical and digital product solutions

This presentation will explore the opportunities and challenges in undertaking codesign projects in healthcare contexts.  Using two projects the presentation will explore how creative approaches using digital technologies can create and deliver product solutions in collaboration with users of healthcare services. The presentation will shed light on the complexities associated with implementation in this complex environment.

Steve is a Professor in Design and the director of Good Health Design, a collaborative design studio at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). As one of a multidisciplinary team, whose aim is to develop better health and wellbeing experiences, Steve’s research focuses on how the design of products and services may have a positive impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Good Health Design enables designers to engage with industry professionals as well as researchers from other disciplines, to share and test ideas and develop unique solutions.
