Synopsis

A new framework for Health Information Systems

This presentation is aimed to provide a vision for the future and a framework within which to position innovations. Health information system discussions are often limited to a subset of the traditional domains of EHRs, Applications, Data systems and so on. We need an pragmatic and easily understandable overarching way to represent the field of health informatics that is built in the primary intention - to support better health outcomes. This can then serve to integrate the perspectives of the many people and professions and organisations involved. The presentation will be of a visual map of who the field comes together with emphasis on health delivery and support for self-care including the data systems and architecture to make this possible.
