Alcidion and Gold Coast Health Sign Collaboration Agreement to Drive Innovation in Digital Health
1 hour ago
SECTOR UPDATE - Alcidion Alcidion has signed a formal collaboration agreement with Gold Coast Health, building on the partnership established earlier this year through the implementation of Alcidion’s Miya Precision remote patient monitoring software.
The agreement creates a formal framework for the continued development of healthcare technology and best practice to improve outcomes for patients and clinicians. Under the agreement, Alcidion and Gold Coast Health will collaborate on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities for innovation on the Miya Precision platform, informed by operational experience and clinical governance at one of Australia's fastest-growing health services.
Both parties will work together to prioritise and implement identified enhancements, which will then be made available for other health services, using Miya Precision, to adopt.
As part of the agreement Gold Coast Health will develop a detailed reflection on its implementation journey, identifying areas for improvement and advancement benefiting future users.
The agreement represents a maturing relationship between health service and technology partnerships, moving beyond a traditional vendor-customer arrangement into genuine collaboration.
Gold Coast Health Chief Digital Officer, Dom Girolamo, said: "The next generation of digital healthcare cannot be created in isolation. It needs to support continuous innovation with genuine co-design between health services, clinicians and technology partners.”
"Through our collaboration with Alcidion and supported by digital strategy, we have an opportunity to help shape digital tools that are intuitive, integrated and grounded in the realities of care delivery. This is central to our strategy to build a smarter, more connected digital health ecosystem that strengthens clinical decision making, enables new models of care and creates lessons that can benefit the wider health system."
Alcidion CEO Kate Quirke said: "The best healthcare technology is shaped by the people who use it every day. This agreement recognises the enormous value that Gold Coast Health's clinical and operational teams bring to the development process - their expertise and willingness to share what they learn will help us build better solutions for the sector.
"We're proud that Gold Coast Health has chosen to deepen our partnership in this way. It reflects a shared commitment to making digital health solutions work in practice, not just in principle - and to making those learnings available to other health services on the same journey.” Image: Representatives from Alcidion and Gold Coast Health at the signing of the collaboration agreement during the Digital Health Festival in Melbourne.
