Ms. Rebecca Wood, Deputy Ambassador of New Zealand to Vietnam celebrates strategic partnership between New Zealand's Amalga and Vietnam's Sun Hospital.In a landmark step toward shaping the future of healthcare in Vietnam, Amalga, a New Zealand-based healthcare technology leader, and Sun Group International Hospital have officially entered into a strategic partnership to implement the Amalga Hospital Information System (HIS), a next-generation digital platform designed to transform patient experience and hospital operations.

The agreement was formally signed in Hanoi in the presence of Ms. Rebecca Wood, Deputy Head of Mission of New Zealand to Vietnam, who celebrated the collaboration as a milestone in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

“This partnership showcases New Zealand’s innovation and commitment to improving global healthcare outcomes,” said Ms. Wood. “By bringing cutting-edge digital health solutions to Vietnam, we’re deepening the friendship between our countries while making a real difference for patients and medical professionals alike.”

Digital transformation for human-centered healthcare

Through the deployment of Amalga HIS, Sun Group International Hospital will pioneer a seamless, patient-first digital ecosystem - integrating electronic medical records, AI-powered decision support, and real-time operational analytics. The result is a fully connected hospital environment that enhances patient safety, reduces waiting times, and empowers clinicians with accurate, data-driven insights.

The rollout will begin at Sun Group International Hospital Hanoi, one of Vietnam’s most advanced private hospitals, before expanding to Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Ninh Binh - marking a significant milestone in Sun Group’s vision to build a connected, world-class healthcare system across the country.

This collaboration not only advances digital transformation in Vietnam’s healthcare sector but also reinforces the strategic diplomatic partnership between New Zealand and Vietnam, promoting sustainable, people-centered innovation across borders.
