Valentia launches indici GP Companion App for enhanced clinician mobility
Friday, 6 June 2025
SECTOR UPDATE - Valentia Technologies A new mobile app from Valentia Technologies provides GPs with access to patient information, task management and AI scribing capabilities, all from the phone in their pocket.
Valentia unveiled its new GP Companion app at the GPCME Rotorua conference on 6 June 2025, bringing enhanced mobility to users of the indici practice management system (PMS) through secure mobile access to patient information.
The app consolidates several existing indici tools into a single mobile application, allowing clinicians to access patient information, manage tasks and utilise AI scribing capabilities from their smartphones or tablets.
"This GP Companion app will give providers greater mobility by giving them mobile access to patient information such as their appointments, medication history, long-term conditions, allergies and past clinical notes," says indici Platform Manager Sarfraz Ahmed.
"Being a browser-native platform, indici has already enabled practices to break free from legacy limitations: the GP Companion app takes that step further, bringing indici to the clinician's pocket.”
Key features of the app include mobile access to patient medical records, and the ability to take photos and upload them directly to patient files without storing them locally on their devices, ensuring security and convenience.
The app also enables clinicians to view and action their inbox, manage tasks, and process or approve repeat scripts remotely.
GP Companion is integrated with a range of AI scribing tools, allowing clinicians to record patient-doctor conversations through the app, which are then processed using AI technology to create clinical notes.
"Clinicians will have the opportunity to review that, make any changes, and then that can be made part of the patient record," says Sarfraz.
"We keep the original transcript and what was produced by the AI as an output, so both will be stored for the audit log."
Indici product development manager Imran Rashid says Valentia is seeking early adopters of the GP Companion App at the GPCME Rotorua conference.
Initial feedback on the AI scribing component has been positive, with GPs appreciating the integration that eliminates the need to copy and paste notes between systems.
Later in 2025, Valentia plans to add offline capability to the app, which will particularly benefit rural GPs facing connectivity challenges.
"We see this as a meaningful step towards bridging the digital divide in healthcare," says Imran.
The GP Companion app will be available for both Android and iOS devices, as well as tablets, with no patient data stored locally on the devices to ensure security.
