SECTOR UPDATE - Dedalus

Healthcare digitisation is rapidly transforming global healthcare landscapes, and at Dedalus, we are bringing proven digital solutions to the New Zealand and Australian healthcare sectors. Our goal is to ensure these solutions meet local clinical practices, legislative, and regulatory requirements.

With a team of experienced clinicians and experts, Dedalus draws on a dedicated global "Medical Office" to advise on standards and guidelines. Our Clinical Safety Team ensures all solutions are clinically safe and effective. This approach has led to the successful integration of tools like ORBIS Electronic Medical Records (EMR), amPHI prehospital care records, and Swiftqueue appointment management into the New Zealand and Australian markets.

ORBIS Electronic Medical Record

ORBIS, Dedalus's flagship EMR, is used in over 1,000 European hospitals, including France and Germany, where it is the leading solution. It focuses on usability, efficiency, and patient safety. Key features include:

  • Time-saving workflows to reduce clinicians' time on documentation.
  • Advanced dashboards for easily digestible patient data.
  • Device independence and mobile support, enabling clinicians to access patient data anytime, anywhere.
  • Interoperability through DC4H, Dedalus's integration engine.
  • ORBIS enhances clinical practice by improving workflow, reducing cognitive load, and fostering best practices for patient safety.

webPAS (Patient Administration System) is the predominant hospital patient management solution throughout the Australian and New Zealand health system. It offers unique and unprecedented patient management capabilities for both public and private organisations across all jurisdictions in Australia and New Zealand.

Developed specifically as a highly configurable solution, it provides an integrated, enterprise-wide patient record allowing all aspects of a patient’s journey through the hospital to be managed and tracked. Since its introduction to the market, webPAS is now installed in over 252 sites throughout the ANZ region, and currently manages over 22,000 hospital beds (23 per cent of all hospital beds).

amPHI Prehospital Care Record streamlines the prehospital care pathway by recording all patient data from the scene of an emergency to hospital admission. It integrates data from ambulance monitors, ensuring better diagnosis and treatment. Used in Denmark and Sweden, amPHI is installed in over 650 vehicles, supporting 11,000 users across Denmark's five regions. It also includes modules for emergency medical coordination during major incidents.

Swiftqueue is an enterprise-level scheduling and real-time capacity management platform designed to enhance patient engagement and operational efficiency. It helps hospitals and clinics reduce waiting times, optimize resource use, and improve patient satisfaction. Used globally in departments like oncology, radiology, and mental health, Swiftqueue's ability to streamline booking processes has made it a go-to solution for patient scheduling, including in the UK’s NHS for blood tests and COVID-19 vaccinations.
