Spark Health partners with Celo to make secure messaging accessible to New Zealand health providers

SECTOR UPDATE - Celo Celo and Spark Health today announced that they have signed an agreement to bring Celo’s secure and easy-to-use collaboration solution to healthcare providers across Aotearoa.
Celo will enable Spark Health to offer its customers secure team and patient collaboration services, allowing healthcare providers to seamlessly switch between their preferred communication medium and still maintain clinical notes in a secure and structured manner. “Spark Health’s clinician-led approach aligns perfectly with our mission at Celo to support the healthcare workforce,” said Steve Vlok, CEO of Celo. “This partnership will allow us to rapidly expand Celo’s reach, making our secure and intuitive collaboration solution more widely available and accessible to healthcare teams across New Zealand. Together, we’re enabling clinicians to easily connect with each other and their patients, moving away from the reliance on less secure tools like WhatsApp, email, and texting, which don’t meet patient privacy standards and are still commonly used across the New Zealand health sector. With Celo, we’re ensuring safe and efficient communication that enhances care delivery and keeps patient information secure.” The Celo solution was chosen by Spark Health for its comprehensive capabilities, including its use of healthcare-grade encryption to protect patient information, usability within the practice setting (as it offers the ability for clinicians to get support from colleagues instantaneously), scalability, and the flexibility to incorporate the patient via ‘external chat’ in a secure way. The robust suite of features ensures healthcare professionals can make informed medical decisions remotely, bridging the gap between in-person and virtual care.“ At Spark Health, we want to use technology to bring the best healthcare solutions and experiences for clinicians and patients, to help alleviate the burden our health system finds itself under. Celo’s advanced secure messaging platform is a mobile friendly tool that allows healthcare providers to collaborate and communicate effectively between themselves, as well as their patients through a communication channel, similar to what they typically use in their daily lives. We are excited to formalise this partnership and to be able to provide Celo as an additional option for our customers as part of our Mobile Health Eco-system” said John Macaskill-Smith, CEO of Spark Health.
