Healthpoint’s acquisition strengthens the path to a strong and exciting future
Tuesday, 5 November 2024
SECTOR UPDATE - Healthpoint For two decades, Healthpoint has been an integral part of New Zealand’s online medical information ecosystem. Earlier this year, Jonas Software ANZ acquired Healthpoint’s shares – an acquisition which the leadership of Healthpoint sees as a positive move that only further cements the company’s future in New Zealand. Jonas Software has a unique buy and hold forever strategy to ensure long-term prosperity for the companies it acquires. This aligns with Healthpoint’s enduring commitment to connect people and communities within New Zealand to better healthcare for years to come.
Healthpoint Chief Executive and Founder Kate Rhind is enthusiastic about what lies ahead.
“We have just celebrated Healthpoint’s 20th anniversary, and as we look ahead, we know our future is secure here. Healthpoint continues to operate autonomously, while also leveraging the extensive technology, capability and resources that Jonas Software provides.”
Kate expands on this, “One of the strengths of the acquisition, is that it really is business as usual”. Jonas Software trusts us to know what’s best for the people we serve. That means, Healthpoint continues as a New Zealand company with no changes to our mission, people or operations.
Kate Rhind will continue to head up the company, and staff will continue their mahi working under Healthpoint’s established purpose and values. The key difference is the wealth of resource and knowledge that is now accessible. Kate explains, “This extra layer of expertise available to us will enable us to realise business and social objectives more quickly.”
Jonas Software provides a home for life, nurturing the companies they acquire. They have more than 150 independently managed software companies globally. The strategic guidance and financial security offered to Healthpoint and all organisations under their umbrella, empowers them to innovate and continue as leaders in their respective fields.
While ownership has changed, Healthpoint’s vision and connection for New Zealand remains unmoved: to provide fairer access to all online through improved visibility of health and social services.
