Alcidion Launches International Patient Summary solution to Enhance Healthcare Interoperability

This capability allows care teams to exchange patient records in a form that meets the International Patient Summary (IPS) standard, enabling the seamless transfer of critical care information to other health providers and into patient health apps. 

The Portable Patient Summary harnesses the power of the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) IPS standard to facilitate real-time, accurate, and efficient sharing of patient health information. By adhering to the IPS standard, the capability supports the universal understanding and acceptance of patient clinical summaries, regardless of the health IT systems in use.

The Miya Precision Portable Patient Summary improves patient safety by providing access to accurate and up-to-date information during a care encounter, helping healthcare providers avoid errors related to incomplete or missing patient data. The Portable Patient Summary is designed for simplicity and can be generated directly from the patient’s record in Miya Precision. It supports the security and privacy of patient data through consent-based authentication before the transfer of health information. And it empowers patients to engage in their own healthcare with integrations to various patient-facing health apps in addition to electronic health record (EHR) systems. 

Adhering to the FHIR IPS standard ensures that the Miya Precision Portable Patient Summary meets international guidelines for patient information exchange, making it a reliable tool for global healthcare interoperability.
