Rogan Clarke
Rogan Clarke has been appointed director of integration and delivery at Health New Zealand -Te Whatu Ora. Integration and Delivery is key to ensuring efficient, effective and consistent use of digital platforms and systems that meet the needs of Health NZ’s clinical and corporate customers across the motu.

Clarke lives in Wellington where he has been working with the Ministry of Social Development on their business transformation. He has a strong track record of leading transformative change, including work with Vector, Bank of New Zealand and as director of digital change at the Inland Revenue Department - responsible for transforming IRD’s digital and self-service channels, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening customer relationships.

He starts on 20 March, 2024.

Stella Ward
Stella Ward has been appointed chief executive of Streamliners.

Ward brings a vast knowledge of health systems and well-honed leadership skills and has been recognised for her advocacy for innovation and leadership in digital health. She led the Government Cloud Programme within the office of the GCDO and spearheaded a data and digital transformation as the chief digital officer at Canterbury and West Coast DHBs.

Before joining Streamliners, Ward led the hybrid cloud sales and services team at Hewlett Packard Enterprise NZ (HPE).

“I am excited to join this growing New Zealand owned multinational company, and I look forward to bringing my clinical, commercial, and digital skills to deliver on our purpose,” she says.

Brian Yow
Brian Yow has been appointed clinical informatics director, governance quality and safety at Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora.

Yow is passionate about delivering excellent services that build towards a safer, better, more equitable and sustainable health system. Originally a doctor at Counties Manukau District, he gradually delved into informatics, quality, risk management and hospital operations and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA).

His team’s priorities include ensuring an interconnected, transparent and accountable digital clinical governance ecosystem, implementing safety-by-design methodology to enhance the delivery lifecycle, and embedding continuous quality improvement principles to foster a culture upon which excellence can flourish.

Kate Yeo
Kate Yeo has been appointed clinical informatics director, provider engagement at Health NZ – Te Whatu Ora. The role sits under the chief clinical informatics officer Lara Hopley as part of the new national clinical informatics team that has been established within data and digital.

Her team includes eight new clinical informatics leads (4FTE), provider engagement, from around the motu.

Yeo was previously deputy chief nursing officer at Health NZ - Waikato and sits on the advisory board of the Clinical Informatics Leadership Network and the board for the Nursing Special Interest Group.

“Provider Engagement is a strategic approach that focuses on the streamlining of communication, building relationships and aligning clinical staff with the values, vision, and mission of Health NZ and other healthcare stakeholders to continuously improve care and patient and whānau experience,” she says.

“Our intention to support our colleagues, as needed, to develop understanding about the possibilities data and digital enablement can bring. We work through both location and portfolio allocation.”


Karl Cole
Karl Cole has been appointed digital clinical lead at Spark Health.

Cole has 29 years of medical experience and a fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. He has notably served as a GP in Papatoetoe, South Auckland, and is a co-owner of a multidisciplinary Health Hub.

In 2021 he won both the HiNZ Clinical Informatics Leadership Award and the ProCare GP Leadership Award and his career is marked by his innovative approach in clinical informatics, and he was among the first to assume a chief clinical informatics officer role in Aotearoa.

Cole sits on multiple clinical advisory boards, advocating for ICT-enabled healthcare that prioritises patient-centred, efficient care.

Matthew Parsons
Matthew Parsons has been appointed digital clinical lead at Spark Health.

Parsons has spent the last three decades researching and implementing new health services to improve the lives of older people and people with disabilities and is clinical chair in gerontology at Waikato University.

He has a particular focus around the use of big data and technology to improve efficiency in healthcare and disability support and has worked with multiple government and nongovernment organisations in the development and implementation of such.

He is a current member of the Whakarongorau Aotearoa clinical governance board and has been a member of the interRAI board for six years.

Kyle Forde
Kyle Forde is stepping down from his role as chief executive of Karo from 2 June 2024.

Forde is taking over a product owner role within the company and will continue to be actively involved in the innovation, data and solution development area.

“My sole focus will be to ensure access to health technology is a seamless experience for Hauora providers and we get organisations in a position to deliver primary care services succinctly across the motu,” he says.

Rei Ishikawa will become chief executive in June 2024.

Ishikawa is current chief operating officer at BPAC and has worked across Australasia delivering large scale solutions to clients across both countries.

Jo Scothern
Jo Scothern has been appointed chief executive of Wild Bamboo, leading the teams behind Recordbase and Tūtohi.

He replaces Nick Kemp, who has been seconded to the role of chief operating officer at the Wise Group

Previously, Scothern was software product lead at Wild Bamboo. He was part of the founding team behind the establishment of Wild Bamboo and has worked in multiple lead roles, guiding the organisation as it developed, harnessing the fast-paced technology environment to make a difference for social sector organisations and the people they support.

Scothern is passionate about how technology can be used to empower insights and drive positive change for people. He believes collaboration for a common goal can create amazing outcomes.

Reza Jarral
Reza Jarral has been appointed Chief Medical Officer at CareHQ.

Since CareHQ’s inception in 2020, Jarral’s experience in clinical practice, leadership, and digital innovation has supported its growth, from the original team of five GPs to now over 40, regularly delivering 120 plus online consults a day.

Jarral is passionate about creating better, more equitable health outcomes, is compassionate and humble and gives his all to supporting the CareHQ team.
