SECTOR UPDATE - Te Whatu Ora

The Whānau, Consumer and Clinician Digital Council held its first in-person hui in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on 8 June.

The Council will help shape data and digital technologies to enable improved and equitable health outcomes and provide an important link between data and digital leaders, clinicians, whānau, consumers, hāpori and communities.

Its 18 members and support kaimahi based across Aotearoa had previously only met virtually, so it was a special occasion to gather together and meet in person.

In attendance to support the Council’s mahi was Tania Pritchard, Te Aka Whai Ora Akatū Reo Whānau - General Manager Whānau Voice.

One of the first items on the hui agenda was voting in new Māori Co-Chair, Jared Renata, Ngāti Kahungunu.

Jared joins current Co-Chair, Dr Robyn Whittaker in leading the Council’s mahi to co-design digital services that will best serve the people that use the health system, with whānau at the forefront.
