Whānau, Consumer and Clinician Digital Council members confirmed

SECTOR UPDATE 

Eighteen members have been appointed to the Whānau, Consumer and Clinician Digital Council, which aims to improve health outcomes across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora have established the council to provide advice and recommendations on national strategies, priorities, and investment decisions in relation to data and digital technologies in health.

Members come from various backgrounds, including Māori and Pacific consumers, clinicians, technology experts, and people with long-term conditions who have navigated the health system.

The Te Whatu Ora website says “our Whānau, Consumer and Clinician Digital Council is a link between the Te Whatu Ora Data and Digital Executive and clinicians, consumers, whānau, hapori and communities.

“Grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, the Council plays a significant role in our engagement with diverse stakeholders and working with Māori to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi”.

The Council will meet regularly and report its recommendations back to the Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora data and digital leadership.

The clinician representatives are; Canaan Aumua, Natalie Clarke, Karl Cole, Samantha Davenport, Lara Hopley, Ryan Radecki, Rachel Morris, Ryan Radecki, Karen Shaw, Mark Shirley, Robyn Whittaker

The consumer whanau representatives are; Deborah Bush, Sandra Hanchard, Virgil Iraia, Georgina Johnson, Manawanui (Mana) Lowe, Jared Renata, Belinda Tran-Lawrence, Susan Haynes Veart.
