Green Cross Health has launched a consumer health app with Webtools and become an early adopter of Medtech’s Medeor payment solution.
The national primary healthcare provider is leveraging modern technology to help combat staff shortages, adapt to consumer demands in healthcare, and relieve the administrative burden on its 60 clinics.
The new app, called The Doctors, is powered by the Centrik platform from Webtools and will be available to 350,000 patients across the motu.
It enables patients to access their health summary, book appointments, request repeat prescriptions, message their primary care team, and attend virtual consultations.

Green Cross Health general manager medical, Wayne Woolrich, says The Doctors provides patients better access to their health care, and relieves the admin burden on practices by cutting down on phone calls for appointments, scripts and lab test results.
“In the long term it means that processes are more efficient, and teams can focus more on delivering best-practice patient care,” he says.
Woolrich adds that the app is the first step to realising Green Cross Health and Webtools’ vision of a fully integrated ecosystem of care, and development of the second step to provide seamless virtual care is well advanced.
“Soon patients will have the ultimate in choice through the app – to book an in-person or virtual appointment with their preferred GP through to booking a casual consult on HouseCall,” he says.
Green Cross Health has also signed with Medtech to roll out their Evolution PMS and integrated Medeor payment solution.
General manager IT Ray Liu says the Evolution roll-out will be completed in the first half of 2023 and the investment is about easing the burden for clinic teams.
“They need more efficient ways to manage the reconciliation and debt, and patients want easier ways to pay. Medeor will make this seamless,” he says.
“Investing in systems and partners like this are the foundation that will enable us to add more digital solutions on top that benefit our practices.”
The Doctors app securely integrates with the Evolution PMS through Medtech’s ALEX integration layer, to provide patients with a frictionless patient portal experience.
