A three-person judging panel selected the finalists; 2019 award winner Rebecca George, 2020 award winner Lara Hopley, and HiNZ board chair Karen Blake.

The judges said the nominations were full of depth, variety and experience.

“Our three finalists have all stepped beyond their normal spheres of influence and work, contributing to the broader health system: and we are starting to see people contributing at regional, national and international levels,” Karen Blake says.

“As we look to the future, we are encouraged by all the nominees who demonstrate the breadth and depth of informatics leadership, capability and impact across the Aotearoa New Zealand’s health system.”

The winner will receive a free pass and speaking slot at Digital Health Week NZ 2023 and $5000 from Spark Health, which they can use to fund further study or attend an international conference.

Spark Health chief executive Will Reedy says each of the finalists are true leaders in Aotearoa's New Zealand's digital health community.

"It is great to see three such deserving finalists representing a range of clinical informatics disciplines working at a National level to deliver improved health outcomes," he says.

"We look forward to hearing who the winner of the 2022 CiLN Award is at Digital Health Week."
