Horouta Pharmacy East Coast collaboration with HealthSoft’s RxOne pharmacy platform

Leading Māori & Pacific pharmacy, Gisborne’s Horouta Pharmacy, has been awarded East Coast Rural Pharmacy Services contract, in collaboration with HealthSoft’s RxOne pharmacy platform, to deliver enhanced medicine and health services to rural whānau in the East Coast region.

Horouta Pharmacy (Gisborne) and HealthSoft (Auckland) proudly announce a strategic collaboration which includes innovative patient and software services to take medicines delivery and oversight closer to whānau in their homes and communities.

Horouta Pharmacy is co-owned and operated by pharmacist Kevin Pewhairangi (Te Aitanga a Hauiti and Ngāti Porou), and clinical pharmacist Kasey Brown (New Zealand born Samoan). They are deeply connected and committed to the serve local and regional whānau with advanced and personalised health and wellbeing solutions with a particular focus on medications.

Their successful bid for the East Coast Rural Pharmacy Services tender provides an opportunity to re-imagine health service delivery and medications management for remote rural whānau and to utilise new digital tools to support this.

“Horouta Pharmacy is delighted to have been selected to bring innovation and improved healthcare delivery to the East Coast rural whānau. The intent of this tender is to accelerate better health equity and health outcomes for rural Māori. We are pleased to collaborate with HealthSoft to utilise their deep digital health experience and to extend their RxOne® pharmacy platform so we can better reach and serve our whānau”, said Kevin Pewhairangi.

“For this project we plan to enhance our medications delivery through multiple remote depots, and to extend our digital connections and support for our patients in East Coast rural areas. We would also like to acknowledge the support of Whānau Tahi (Auckland) and Turanga Health (Gisborne)”, he added.
