Launch of Moana Connect

SECTOR UPDATE - Moana Research

Five years ago, six of our team – Dr Teuila Percival, Jacinta Fa’alili-Fidow, Mary Roberts, Amio Matenga Ikihele, Dr Seini Taufa, and Dudley Gentles started Moana Research as an entity (5GS Ltd trading as Moana Research).

With the expansion of our team and services we have now re-branded as Moana Connect. This re-brand is to reflect the addition of two new services and vaka – Learning and Community – with another internal vaka focusing on Operations. This expansion draws on two important elements of our progress: Integrity and Trust.

Moana Research: The research vaka focuses on exploring, understanding, and elevating together with our communities to achieve diverse peoples, families, and communities. This vaka holds an important role in maintaining positive change through research.

Moana Community: The community vaka draws on community engagement and links between families, groups, churches, and organisations. Moana Community includes programmes such as DigiFale and My Baby’s Village.

Moana Learning: The learning vaka embodies the translation of research into learning and advocacy opportunities. This can be through publications, infographics, resources, and social media. This vaka provides opportunities for our communities through zoom fonos, workshops, seminars and conferences and storytelling.
