SECTOR UPDATE - ACC

The 2022 Health Sector Innovation Fund (“the Fund”) is a new ACC programme that provides funding to eligible organisations to support innovative projects which demonstrably contribute to improved outcomes for our clients.

The vision of the Fund is to create a structure and culture that rewards innovation in targeted areas which will help accelerate ACC’s Health Sector Strategy.

Eligible organisations can apply for up to $100,000 (excluding GST) as a one-off grant, with funding to be issued by 30 June 2022. ACC has a budget of $300k for this activity and wishes to award contracts to multiple suppliers. The procurement process to apply for the grant involves a two-step process involving this ROI then shortlisted suppliers will be invited into the RFP step.

The key challenge we want initiatives to achieve through the 2022 Innovation Fund is “helping clients recover from injury faster”. Your initiative could target large or small groups of clients, such as those who have a particular injury, who live in a particular geographic area, or are members of a specific ethnic group like our Māori or Pasifika clients.

We are more likely to support initiatives which:

  • Are ready for implementation
  • Will be delivered within three to six months after receipt of funding, although we will consider projects that will be delivered within 12 months
  • Have existing support from clinicians and/or clients or client groups
  • Have the potential to be scaled up in partnership
