Free, trustworthy resources for Covid positive patients at home
Thursday, 18 November 2021
SECTOR UPDATE - Health Navigator New Zealand Primary care has a crucial role to play in at home covid care and that’s why Health Navigator NZ is quickly promoting its latest resources with GPs, nurses and pharmacists.
The multi-award winning team at Health Navigator NZ has developed a range of topics (listed below) to support COVID-19 positive people who are self-isolating/quarantining at home.
The easy to understand, best practice resources can be found on the Health Navigator NZ website and are being welcomed by health providers up and down the motu. They simplify complex concepts individuals and whānau need to understand about having COVID.
To save time writing their own materials or grabbing information from overseas, GPs and pharmacists are welcome to add links to the topics to their practice websites and all material is available free to the public and clinics. Health Navigator would also like GPs and pharmacists to promote the free resources to their practices and link to Health Navigator social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Health Navigator is a data free site which means people can view the website (excluding videos) without needing data on their mobile phone.
Resources have been made in partnership with health consumer and Māori and Pasifika advisors, hospital specialists, respiratory physiotherapists, the KidsHealth team and beyond. The charity has more topics in development, including a booklet for adults with COVID living at home.
