SECTOR UPDATE - Visionflex

VisionflexIn this new world, health providers and patients alike, have experienced the benefits of remote consultations. The use of telehealth to deliver primary health services has normalised, with the New Zealand and Australian governments reinforcing this by funding Medicare telehealth rebates. There is now an expectation that a telehealth option is always available, and to not offer a remote service is to risk losing business.

Financially, we know the telehealth sector’s future looks bright. Industry figures indicate that the global telehealth market could grow by 16% (CAGR) 2021-2027, with 2027 global market value predicted to exceed USD150B. You only have to observe the jostling for market share from international business giants such as Amazon, Walmart, and Zoom to sense this anticipated growth.

But the continued evolution of telehealth services will depend largely upon one thing: how do we leverage off the current zeitgeist and ensure that telehealth is sustainable beyond the current public health emergency?

Today, most telehealth consults are still conducted via telephone. When a video consultation is performed, it is often via a traditional consumer VC platform such as Zoom or Teams. These platforms are built around technology best suited to chatting with friends, not performing vital medical consultations with patients.

At Visionflex, we believe telehealth’s future lies in expanding the technology’s clinical repertoire way beyond conducting face-to-face consultations via video conferencing.

What is required is a robust telehealth system that is designed specifically for healthcare professionals in healthcare settings. We require a telehealth system that is embedded with clinical capabilities to enable healthcare professionals to do what they are trained to do: perform patient medical examinations, diagnose conditions, and create and monitor treatment plans.

The Visionflex ProEX telehealth system has been designed exclusively for health and allied health settings.

The ProEX comprises powerful HD video-conferencing software and an easy-to-use hardware system that supports a suite of approved medical devices including ultrasound, stethoscope, endoscope, otoscope, pulse oximeter, ECG, thermometer, blood-pressure monitor, weighing scales and a GEIS General Examination Camera HD.

Visionflex’s new generation technology is designed for the new era of telehealth. It delivers medical expertise to the point of need, giving health professionals the power to collaborate with colleagues; and to examine, diagnose, monitor, and treat, remote patients.
