SECTOR UPDATE - Visionflex

Australian telehealth leader, Visionflex, is transforming remote healthcare delivery with the launch of a powerful new video conferencing platform, Vision.

Unlike regular teleconferencing solutions, Vision is designed specifically for health professionals, medical clinicians, and patients participating in telehealth video consultations.

Vision’s revolutionary software ensures high-quality video and audio, while its suite of collaborative clinical tools enhances the way a remote doctor and local health professional examine, diagnose, treat, and engage with patients.

“Traditional video conferencing programs offer no clinical functionality; all you can do is speak to someone and that is not telehealth, it’s just a face-to-face chat,” said Visionflex CEO, Mr Mike Harman.

“We have designed an easy-to-use, low-cost and secure telehealth video conferencing platform that allows multiple participants to simultaneously carry out effective and accurate clinical consultations.

“Vision is particularly suited to delivering healthcare to remote and rural communities; retirement and aged care facilities; oil, gas, and mining workers; military and defence personnel; in-the-field health settings; and the prison population.”

The Vision platform incorporates another unique function: TrueSteth - a digital stethoscope app that transmits stethoscope audio digitally without loss of quality and provides a remote physician with complete control of stethoscope volume, gain, and filter settings.

“For the first time, TrueSteth allows a doctor at the far end of a video conference call to remotely manipulate the controls of the digital stethoscope and share this data in real time with other participants in the telehealth session,” said Mr Harman.

“TrueSteth is a game changer in the delivery of remote medicine.”

Vision is driven by new-generation software that manages and optimises available internet bandwidth delivering the best possible video quality, audio, and high-speed data transmission at all times. Data transmission and video connections are encrypted using end-to-end technology.

Using Vision, clinicians can access patients anywhere, on internet-connected devices including PCs, Macs, tablets, and smartphones. Android and iOS dedicated apps are available and Vision may be used through Chromium-based browsers.

Vision’s clinical functions include:

TrueSteth – the world’s first digital stethoscope that gives a remote physician control over volume, gain and audio filter settings.

SnapShot – capture and instantly share and save multiple clinical images during a consultation.

RoomVu – remotely view and control PTZ and room cameras to add context to clinical examinations.

ExamVu – integrate remote clinical examinations and share on-screen patient health data in real time.

TeleStrations – multiple participants can annotate shared clinical images and PDF documents live on screen, and store for future reference.

MultiVu – video conference participants can simultaneously activate and switch between numerous cameras and live footage from medical imaging devices.
