NZ start-up, chnnl recognised as innovation leader in global mental health

Award-winning health solutions start-up chnnl has won the Kiwibank ‘Most Innovative Hi-Tech Service’ award for its innovation and efforts within the mental health and wellbeing space at the New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards hosted on 28 May.

In the opinion of the judges, “We were impressed by chnnl’s passion, skills and academic rigour in delivering a critical mental health service to organisations. Their data-driven approach and proven experience provides quantifiable benefits to all participants from the board room to individual employees. Having a well-defined path and clear strategy, chnnl is well placed for growth and embody for themselves and their customers “he tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata” (it is the people, it is the people, it is the people)”.

This fast-growing social innovation startup continues to work to better the lives of many employees by offering a scalable and unbiased solution to help prioritise and protect mental health and wellbeing. Existing to address the global mental health crisis, chnnl is excited to be expanding the technology across the globe to allow international organisations to take meaningful action.

Founder and CEO of chnnl, Dr Elizabeth Berryman, is thrilled to be recognised for her team's work within the community, stating, “I am so excited to be taking our technology to the world & this recognition from the Kiwi tech community is an integral part of this success”.

chnnl has had overwhelming interest including investors from the US and the UK in their current seed raise, which is due to close 30 June 2021. chnnl’s last raise was led by Flying Kiwi Angels and Cure Kids Ventures.
