The CiLN Advisory Panel is delighted to announce that we have three new members: Michael Hosking, Nathan Billing, and Gary McNicholl.

Michael is an occupational therapist and Nathan is a dietician by training, in clinical informatics roles based in Auckland, and have been recent HiNZ Board members. Gary is a North Ireland trained physiotherapist with a strong informatics interest and is the physiotherapy team leader at Bay of Plenty DHB.

It is excellent to have Allied Health, Scientific, and Technical so well represented on our Panel, and we look forward to their energy and perspective going forwards.

We are currently working on Terms of Reference for both CiLN and the CiLN Advisory Panel. These are vital to clarify their purpose, way of working, and structures going forwards. We will shortly be asking for input from the wider CiLN membership on these, and would particularly welcome constructive criticism from those with governance experience and expertise.

The three finalists for this year’s Clinical Informatics Leadership Award are all great contributors to NZ clinical informatics, and we look forward to the result of our upcoming vote for the winner.

Our judges, MoH DDG data and digital Shayne Hunter, NZHIT CEO Scott Arrol, and last year’s winner and HiNZ board chair Becky George represent the breadth of the NZ informatics space, and we are grateful for their time and careful consideration.

Lastly, the upcoming HiNZ Networking events in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland represent an opportunity to get together with your clinical informatics colleagues. While we don’t have anything formal planned, I would encourage you all to think of ways that we can take advantage of having our regional colleagues in one place. We’ll discuss this further in Discourse.

Nathan Kershaw is the co-chair of CiLN.
