Firstcheck provides teledermatology

New Zealand company, Firstcheck provides clinicians with a direct to consumer teledermatology solution to enable remote servicing of patients – be it for skin lesions or general dermatology concerns.
Approximately 20 per cent of GP appointments in New Zealand involve a skin issue and appropriate triage and remote advice using asynchronous store and forward teledermatology has the potential to provide for efficient primary care.
Where dermoscopy images are required, Firstcheck’s smartphone dermoscope costs just $25 making for widespread ability to capture dermoscopy images using a smartphone.
