Upcoming software upgrade

Our planned upgrade to our interRAI software will fix some software bugs, make minor corrections and introduce a new tool that will let you change your password yourself.

We routinely upgrade interRAI software. The next upgrade happening in May will introduce some improvements that incorporate your feedback and make the interRAI software easier to use.

interRAI e-learning being developed

The interRAI Services education team is developing an e-learning programme for health professionals wanting to use and understand information captured in interRAI assessments.

The e-learning programme is designed for health professionals who access interRAI assessments completed by others to inform their service delivery.

The e-learning programme is expected to help a wider group of health practitioners understand interRAI assessments and will be released later in the year.

NZ shares interRAI experience with visiting Singapore delegation

A delegation of health officials from Singapore will visit New Zealand from 18–20 March 2019 to learn about New Zealand’s experiences using the interRAI assessment system and investigate the benefits.

Singaporean authorities are considering introducing interRAI as an assessment tool in their health sector. They will meet interRAI Services, the Ministry of Health and visit two providers.

Kia kōrero: advance care plans

Encouraging people to create an advance care plan for their future health and end-of-life care is included in interRAI assessments.

A new campaign from the Health Quality and Safety Commission
encourages people to plan for their future healthcare.

Kia kōrero | Let’s talk features personal stories of six New Zealanders at different stages of life and wellness. It is resource you can use in discussions about matters at end of life.

Delivering on the power of Big Data

How we use the power of Big Data to improve caring for older people will be a key topic for interRAI Services general manager Michele McCreadie at a planning and resourcing conference in Auckland.

McCreadie will present at the Health & Care Services for NZ’s Ageing Population conference, 29–30 April 2019, at the Novotel Ellerslie, on Day 1 from 4.30 pm.

The volume of data collected provides TAS with a very comprehensive picture of the health of elderly and frail people. McCreadie will discuss the power of interRAI data sets for New Zealand, and what the health sector can do using predictive analytics to deliver sophisticated care for older people in future.
