Secure messaging provider Celo has launched globally and celebrated this with a global launch event at their headquarters in Auckland last Wednesday.

CEO Steve Vlok told guests that Celo has started the journey to becoming global, with Celo now available in Australia.

“We have plans to launch in other markets throughout the year and have a significant number of opportunities. By connecting healthcare professionals with each other in a safe manner, Celo has already seen some fantastic outcomes to patients by ensuring the right care or advice can be given in real time.”

Canterbury District Health Board chief digital officer Stella Ward delivered a presentation on the Canterbury health system’s partnership with Celo, and shared the positive impact working with Celo has had on the organisation as well as patient outcomes and clinical engagement.

“Healthcare is ripe for the digital transformation that needs to happen and New Zealand companies like Celo are ready to tackle these problems for the world.”

Celo also announced recent signings of both Auckland DHB and Hawke’s Bay DHB for pilots, as well as private hospital provider Mercy Ascot.

Also announced was Celo’s integration with GP software provider Medtech and pharmacy software provider Toniq.

Celo has signaled that some more integration announcements will be made soon with both GP software providers and secondary care electronic medical record systems both in New Zealand and internationally. District health boards around the country are also in discussions with Celo.

Canterbury DHB became the first recipient of Celo’s newly launched Innovation Partner award, with Stella Ward receiving this award during the global launch event.
