BeeFound is an easy-to-use online platform that enables general practices to search for and book GP, nurse practitioner, registered nurse and enrolled nurse locums.

The system has been working successfully in Canterbury since June 2017, where it was first established in New Zealand.

BeeFound is delivered and managed by Pegasus Health with licensing now available to primary health organisations across New Zealand. Three PHOs who have recently come onboard – Eastern Bay Primary Health Alliance, Tū Ora Compass Health and Te Awakairangi Health Network – bring coverage to the Eastern Bay of Plenty and the Greater Wellington regions. There is also interest from even further afield.

Pegasus Health digital platform manager Eirlys Beverley-Stone says BeeFound offers huge benefits to both general practices and locums.

“Practices get access to multiple locums with one simple search and without having to pay the fees per booking charged by locum agencies,” says Eirlys.

It also provides great flexibility for primary health professionals who want to work as locums on a full-time or part-time basis, e.g., those who are retired and wish to earn some income, or those who have some fixed hours and wish to supplement their income.

“Locums can use BeeFound for free. It’s a great way for them to manage their diary and bookings, and it’s quick. Locums receive instant bookings via text message and email and can say yes to the offer on the go via a mobile app,” says Eirlys.
