Canterbury DHB has set a new target date of 5 October 2018 to roll out the region-wide patient administration and management system, SI PICS.
The South Island Patient Information Care System had been due to go live at CDHB’s Ashburton and Christchurch Hospitals on 31 August, but this did not go ahead.
The board says this postponement was made to “ensure full confidence about data migration testing and to allow full service guidelines for each service to be completed”.
The system, provided by Orion Health, will eventually become the region-wide solution for patient management and administration across the South Island’s five district health boards, which are all members of the South Island Alliance.
It is already live at Burwood Hospital
and six rural health facilities across Canterbury and went live at Nelson Marlborough DHB
in May.
