A new target date has been set by the SI PICS Programme Board for the next deployment of its region-wide patient administration and management system, South Island Patient Information Care System. The board’s Christchurch Campus and Ashburton Hospital will now work towards a go live date of 31 August 2018.

CDHB had previously been working towards an end of May deadline.

Executive sponsor of SI PICS Stella Ward says that over the past few weeks, the Programme Board has worked closely with the business to fully scope the project’s remaining tasks and set what it considers to be an achievable target date.

“The Programme Board will continue to monitor and assess our progress towards that goal before making the final decision to go live on the 31 August. The opportunity to take stock and make a final decision will mean that the organisation has an added level of confidence that the campus is ready,” she says.

“This is a significant project that requires hard work and adaptability to implement effectively, but at the end of this process we will have a truly modern digital tool and more connected regional health system that will benefit patients and staff South Island wide.”
