Canterbury DHB issues tenders for hybrid cloud transformation services
Thursday, 26 July 2018
Return to eHealthNews.nz home page Canterbury District Health Board has issued a Request for Proposals for hybrid cloud transformation services. The following is the DHB’s statement about what it requires.
CDHB requires a solution to move our current computer workloads to a hybrid environment of public cloud, private cloud and on-premise so that we can improve business value through enhanced service delivery and control of our operating costs. In this process we expect to transform and modernise our IT operation and as a result be significantly more agile and able to respond faster to deliver health innovation.
As our business is public health and we operate 24/7, our solution must be highly reliable with significant consideration given to security, availability and disaster recovery.
We want a proposal for a one-year transformation project that will move the bulk of our applications from their current environments to hybrid cloud. This proposal must include the development of strategy, actionable roadmaps and, most importantly, the planning and implementation of these roadmaps including the provision of technology tooling, knowledge transfer and process changes.
We anticipate that this work will include an analysis of our current state across technology, process and people, with benefits and disbenefits of different options to create future state recommendations. This work will be supported by our IT staff and partners.
At the successful completion of this transformation where the bulk applications have been moved, our IT staff and partners will continue to move any remaining applications. Your proposal needs to include the training and process changes required so that we can continue the transition and operations for the long term.
Implementation of the new environment will need to minimise any system downtime, which can have clinical consequences for our patients and communities.
Information security of the resulting solution is critical to us and any proposal must provide mechanisms to ensure that we have sufficient visibility of technical and procedural security controls to comply with the New Zealand Information Security Manual, New Zealand Health Information Security Framework and the anticipated changes related to GDPR.
The RFP closes on 17 August 2018.
