This newly-created PDH Māori Health Director role is a paid, part-time (0.1 FTE) position, designed to help ensure that Precision Driven Health research is leading to positive outcomes for Māori. The candidate will work alongside the General Manager and our Clinical, Commercial, and Science Directors to identify opportunities, review proposals, evaluate progress and engage the wider community.
An ideal candidate will be recognised for leadership and experience in Māori health research and health technology and have an interest in data science. They should be a passionate New Zealander, familiar with Vision Mātauranga policy and the national health strategy, and with a vision for our future. A position description is available.
The Precision Driven Health partnership, established in March 2016, is one of the most ambitious data science research initiatives to be undertaken in New Zealand. The partnership unites our health IT sector with health providers and universities to create health and commercial opportunities for New Zealanders.
Precision Driven Health was created to put New Zealand at the forefront of the global precision health movement through world-leading research. This involves applying new data science techniques to understand the massive volume of data that an individual and their whanau generate across systems including health information systems, consumer devices, social networks, and genomics.
