Philips today announced the appointment of Matt Moran as managing director for Philips Australia and New Zealand and general manager health systems, Philips Australia and New Zealand, effective 1 June 2018.

Under the new leadership of Mr Moran, who previously held the position of vice president and general manager of personal health ASEAN Pacific, Philips continues its commitment to expand its growth strategy as a health technology company focused on improving people’s lives.

In his position as managing director, Matt Moran will be responsible for the health systems, personal health and sleep and respiratory care businesses in both countries, leading a team of more than 450 staff. With more than 20 years of experience at Philips, he will focus on driving health transformations, value-based care and other growth opportunities that will further strengthen Philips’ leading positions in the industry.

Matt’s appointment follows the departure of Kevin Barrow, who left Philips earlier this year to pursue other opportunities.

CEO of Philips ASEAN Pacific, Caroline Clarke, said, "We are very pleased to have Matt Moran in this critical position for our region to stay ahead of a rapidly changing healthcare industry. He is well positioned to lead our team in Australia and New Zealand with his proven track record of delivering results for Philips over many years. Matt will continue to drive our strategic vision of transforming our footprint, so we can better respond to our customers’ needs and allow for care to be integrated more seamlessly.”

In his tenure at Philips, Matt has held several senior leadership positions in general management, sales, marketing and business transformation across multiple countries in ASEAN Pacific, including Australia, as well as Europe and Russia.

“I am very proud to be appointed as managing director for Australia and New Zealand at this pivotal moment where the company is driving new solutions and models of care that make an impact to people and their communities to improve outcomes,” added Matt Moran. “I look forward to being in Australia again and together with the team, working collaboratively with our customers, government and other industry partners to provide the most innovative solutions that support health and well-being, personalise care, and shape and transform the way health care is delivered and experienced.”

In this dual role for Australia and New Zealand, Matt reports to Caroline Clarke, CEO of Philips ASEAN Pacific, and to Diederik Zeven, Lead of Health Systems Philips ASEAN Pacific, respectively. He is based at the Philips corporate office in North Ryde, New South Wales.
