Leading transformational change

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) is partway through a five-year major transformation programme, with the goal of delivering a more modern, integrated, high-quality and customer-focused service. Enhanced technology is a key part of the programme. Digital transformation will enable the replacement of cumbersome paper-based processes and provide the basis for faster, more transparent decisions, and better sharing of and access to information for clients, health professionals and businesses alike.

ACC Chief Executive Scott Pickering will outline how ACC is transforming to ensure its people, processes, technology and information are aligned around the changing needs of its customers.

Biography

Scott Pickering
Chief Executive
Accident Compensation Corporation

Scott joined the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) in May 2013, following a 25-year career as a Chief Executive and senior leader in the global insurance industry. He is also non-executive director for Chubb Insurance in Australia and New Zealand, and a shareholder director in state-owned Kiwibank.

Before joining ACC, Scott was regional CEO for one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, Willis (Towers Watson), for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to Willis, Scott worked for Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance (RSA) as Regional CEO for Asia and the Middle East. He has also held senior regional leadership and Chief Executive roles at ACE Insurance and CIGNA in the Asia-Pacific region.

Scott’s driving philosophy is to ensure the organisations he is involved with always deliver quality customer service and outcomes. He is particularly enthused by the role ACC has to play in working with healthcare providers, businesses and communities to prevent injuries and make New Zealand a safer place.
