Biography

Byron Phillips
Healthcare Industry Strategist
DXC Australia and New Zealand

As Healthcare Industry Strategist, Byron is responsible for leading the business growth strategy of DXC’s Healthcare Group across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, Byron spends considerable time with both the private and public healthcare sectors throughout the region.

Byron’s health IT experience is wide and varied. Since joining DXC over two decades ago, Byron has held diverse roles from CIO, solutions manager, operations (delivery) director, sales director, and most recently, responsible for DXC’s healthcare strategy, new market entry and partner ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining DXC Byron held senior roles in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors in organisations providing perspective from both enterprise consumers and providers of IT solutions.

Drawing on his many years of experience in information systems, including 20 dedicated specifically to healthcare, Byron is well versed in the necessity of enhanced information management for material improvement of outcomes, efficiencies and economics associated with care delivery.

During his time with DXC, Byron has been involved in almost all the major procurements of patient related information systems across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The interpretation of “pain” within the healthcare sector, and alignment with DXC solutions, products and services, to mitigate the issues of healthcare is a major focus for Byron and his team.

Byron’s broad spectrum experience and knowledge regarding the elements of successful healthcare information system strategy, selection and implementation, has given him an appreciation of the complexities of regional issues and the challenges of delivering balanced transformation aligned to business outcomes.
