HiNZ has arranged for two bus services during the conference. There is an airport transfer service and a shuttle bus service between Hamilton hotels and the venue.

 


BUS TRANSFERS - Between venue & hotels

To assist delegates with travel between various Hamilton hotels and the venue, HiNZ has arranged free shuttle buses to/from the conference venue.

 

Bus Route

The buses run on a loop between the start time and end time. Each loop is estimated to take between 20-30 minutes depending on how long it takes people to get on/off the bus. If you are not staying at one of the hotels on the bus route you can still catch the bus - simply walk to the nearest hotel from your location.

 

Route 1

  • Novotel Tainui Hamilton – 7 Alma Street
  • Ibis Tainui Hamilton - 18 Alma Street
  • Quest Hamilton - 51 London St

Route 2

  • Distinction Hamilton - 100 Garnett Ave
  • Urban bus stop outside Aaron Court Motel - 252 Ulster St

How to catch the bus

  • Look for the Digital Health Week NZ sign in the bus window.
  • The buses are free for HiNZ delegates (it is a trust-based system - you are not required to be wear a delegate badge or provide a ticket to the driver).
  • The buses will not stop for long at each location as they need to complete the loop in the shortest possible time to get back again, so please make sure you are ready when they arrive or you will need to wait for the next bus to arrive.
  • Seats can’t be booked: first on the bus gets the seat.
  • The buses cannot detour to other motels/hotels. We realise the bus route and availability won't be ideal for everyone, as we need to work within resource constraints. Thank you for your understanding.

HiNZ COURTESY VAN

HiNZ has a courtesy van that fits 7 passengers plus luggage. It may be available on request to do transfers between Hamilton Airport and the venue. To check if this service is available at the time you require, please email us at hinz2019@theconferencecompany.com (or see the registration desk during the conference)

 


 

BUS TRANSFERS - To/From Airports

To assist delegates with travel between Auckland and Hamilton, HiNZ is providing a coach service from Auckland airport to the two main hotels. The buses will drop off passengers at Novotel and IBIS in central Hamilton. (If you are staying at a different hotel it will be a short taxi fare to your final destination)

 

Travel time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and seat prices are $49 one way. There will also be a coach service from the conference venue Claudelands to Hamilton airport on Friday 22 November, for $29 one way.

Auckland Airport to Claudelands

  • Tuesday 19 November – depart international 11.30am; depart domestic midday; arrive Hamilton 2pm
  • Tuesday 19 November - depart international 2.30pm; depart domestic 3.00pm; arrive Hamilton 5.00pm
  • Wednesday 20 November - depart international 9.45; depart domestic 10.30am; arrive Hamilton 12.30pm

Claudelands to Auckland Airport

  • Friday 22 November – depart Claudelands 1pm; arrive Auckland airport 3pm

Claudelands to Hamilton Airport

  • Friday 22 November – depart Claudelands at 10am, midday & 1pm (travel time to Hamilton airport is 20-30mins)

Terms & conditions of airport bus transfer service: Bus fares are non-refundable after 31 October 2019. Bus seats are transferable to another name on request until 24 hours before bus departure. To make a transfer email hinz2019@theconferencecompany.com or visit the registration desk at Claudelands. It is your responsibility to be at the bus meeting point on time. HiNZ will not provide refunds if you miss the bus departure time. If you are concerned about disruptions to your flight arrival times, we suggest you take out travel insurance. HiNZ reserves the right to make changes to the bus timetable (or to reduce the size of the bus) if bookings are not sufficient for a full size coach to go ahead. All booked passengers will be notified of any changes on or before 31 October 2019. Arrival times are estimates based on typical travel times and we can't guarantee this as it depends on traffic volumes on the day. The times estimated are conservative so if traffic is light you may arrive earlier.
