Smart Homes are created by combining connected care and health devices to support people to live independently with the flexibility to customise as per client’s needs. Smart Home technology improves access to care, helps to eradicate isolation and improves outcomes for people who use it. It is a range of intelligent assistive technologies, remote patient monitoring system and care services that aim to assist older people, people living with chronic illness and people with ongoing and special needs to live in a supported but independent environment. Smart home technology is a connected home which will ensure personal safety through sensors and ICP Triage Manager. It can be voice controlled, automated, has video conference capabilities and is user friendly, through which the care recipient can maintain their independence. Through secure real-time applications, even family and friends can participate in the monitoring and be up to date about the user’s wellbeing. With 24/7 round the clock monitoring and activity sensors, the client can receive immediate assistance from anywhere in their home. The aim is to provide solutions that assist people to maintain their independence. These homes are a solution to carers, users, family and enabling people to live more fulfilling lives wherever they like.
