Digital Health Leadership Summit - rescheduled to March 2021

In our recent post-Covid event survey, health sector leaders told HiNZ they want regional events that give them the opportunity to meet other digital health leaders face-to-face. They want an event format that could comply with covid alert levels in a responsible way, and that is low cost to attend.

The innovative solution from HiNZ is the Digital Health Leadership Summit series!

One event - three locations

The Digital Health Leadership Summit will be repeated in three different cities:

  • Monday 22 March 2021 – WELLINGTON at Te Papa
  • Wednesday 24 March 2021 – CHRISTCHURCH at Rydges Latimer
  • Friday 26 March 2021 – AUCKLAND at ASB Showgrounds

Collaboration and leadership

The Summit is designed to facilitate collaboration and leadership in what has been a momentous year for data and digital health. These regional events come at an ideal time for healthcare leaders to reflect on recent events and consider next steps in New Zealand's digital health transformation.

Engaging discussion format

Each Summit will run from 9am to 5pm, followed by a relaxed networking event from 5pm to 7pm.

The main plenary room will be set up with round tables and ten seats per table. Each table will have a different discussion topic. Approximately every 45 minutes he will announce the start of a new discussion round. Delegates will stand up and move to another table, selecting another topic they are interested in discussing and sitting at the table that is discussing that particular topic. It’s like ‘musical chairs’ for grownups!

There will be two keynote speakers at each summit:

  • Shayne Hunter, Deputy Director General of Data and Digital, Ministry of Health (Speaking at summits in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch)
  • Dr Lloyd McCann, Chief Executive Officer, Mercy Radiology and Clinics; Head of Digital Health, Healthcare Holdings (Speaking at Auckland summit)
  • Others to be announced

Each delegate will have the opportunity to visit approximately six discussion tables throughout the day, based on which topics are of most interest to them. Rotating seats will enable you to easily make new connections and generate new ideas.

There will be plenty of opportunities to network with other delegates during am/pm tea and lunch in the catering area; and the event will conclude with a networking function with snacks and beverages from 5-7pm.

Attendance at this exclusive leadership summit is free, but you need to apply for a ticket.

The application process enables us to ensure that each healthcare organisation has the opportunity to send a few people and to ensure varying professions are in attendance. A broad range of perspectives will make for better discussion group outcomes.

Applications will be considered based on whether your job, organisation, and reason for attending, makes you eligible as a current or emerging leader/influencer in digital health. To receive a free ticket, you need to be an HiNZ member with an expiry date after 27 November 2020. (You will be given the opportunity to join HiNZ, if your membership is not current. We have an easy $17 per month membership option, or you can pay a lump sum of $198 per year.)

Industry personnel - to attend, you need to book a sponsorship package.

Seats at each event are limited due to venue capacity and alert level restrictions (we have a contingency plan if the Covid alert level changes just prior to the event). If you miss out on a ticket, you are welcome to watch the event webinars, where key insights from each event will be discussed by an expert speaker panel. These interview panels will be available to view LIVE within 24 hours of each summit; or on-demand later for HiNZ members.
