Membership FAQs

Q. How do I join?

A. Apply to join CiLN and become a member of the the NZ Informatics online forum here https://discourse.digitalhealth.net/

 

Q. Is there a fee to join CiLN?

A. No, it is free to be a CiLN member. The CiLN network is funded by HiNZ as a free service to clinicians. We encourage all CiLN members to be a HiNZ member, in order to support HiNZ. Go here to find out more about HiNZ member benefits.

 

Q. What are the criteria for membership?

A. CiLN is a NZ-based, multi-disciplinary and responsive health network for people with a clinical background and interest in data and/or digital. Anyone with a clinical background and an interest in data/ and or digital can apply to join.

 

Q. How do I login to Discourse? 

A. Go to this page, https://discourse.digitalhealth.net/ enter your email as your login name. If you've forgotten your password you can request a new one.

 

Q. Why does the online forum say Digital Health Networks?

 

A. CiLN uses space on the UK's Digital Health Networks to communicate. This means you can share ideas and questions with colleagues in the UK as well as NZ. However, if you stay within the NZ Informatics Forum

your posts will only seen by others in NZ.

 

CiLN Award FAQs

Q. Can I nominate myself?

A. No, you must be nominated by another CiLN member

 

Q. Can I nominate someone else?

A. Yes, as long as they meet the criteria.

 

Q. Can I nominate more than one person?

A. Yes, just fill out the form more than once.

 

Q. What if someone is nominated more than one?

A. The judges will consider all entries for one person as one nomination.

 

Q. I live outside of New Zealand, can I be nominated?

A. If your nomination relates to work undertaken in digital health in New Zealand between June 2018 – June 2019 then yes, otherwise no.

 

Q. I’m a registered health professional but no longer a practicing clinician, can I be nominated?

A. Yes, as long as you are a CiLN member

 

Q. Does the digital health project have to have started and been completed?

A. No, the project could have started before this time period and still be ongoing, but some of the work must have been undertaken by the nominee during this time.

 

Q. Can I provide supporting documentation?

A. Yes, you can reply to your nomination confirmation email with supporting documentation, but the judges are under no obligation to read this. Graphical/ illustrative documents will be reviewed by the judges.

 

Q. How will I find out if I’m a finalist?

A. The three finalists will be chosen by the judging panel, then contacted by eHealthNews editor Rebecca McBeth after 15 September for an interview and write-up in eHealthNews, before the public vote opens on October 7.

 

Q. What does the winner receive?

A. The winner will receive

-       A trophy during Digital Health Week NZ.

-       A free pass and a speaking slot, on a topic of their choice, at the next HiNZ Conference

-       Spark Health & Wellness will provide up to $5000 in expenses for the winner to travel to an international conference of their choice. (The winner will provide a short report on key insights from the conference to be shared with CiLN.)

 

Q. Do I have to accept the prizes offered?

A. No you can choose not to accept or to pass on the prize to a deserving team member/ colleague if you wish.
