2020 Conference Cancelled

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HiNZ CEO ON 21 May 2020

On behalf of the HiNZ board and management team, I regret to advise that HiNZ has reluctantly decided to cancel the 2020 HiNZ Conference, that was scheduled for 23-27 November in Hamilton. 

 

Running a large conference requires significant upfront investment. In order to be confident in taking a financial risk, we need to be certain delegates will be allowed to attend, sponsors can book trans-Tasman flights, and a large crowd is able to gather together. HiNZ considered running a multi-day virtual conference instead, but survey results clearly showed that most would be unable to pay to attend an online event, which means HiNZ could not commit to the financial investment of producing an online replacement. We will continue running our popular webinars for the rest of the year and we thank our sponsors and members for making this possible.

 

If your organisation had booked an exhibition booth for Hamilton 2020 then you will get first rights on moving your booth to a similar location in Wellington 2021. You will be contacted directly about this by the HiNZ CEO.

COMING SOON...

Exclusive regional events: The survey showed you have a clear preference for meeting in person, as long as it is safe to do so. We are therefore investigating the feasibility of running a series of smaller regional events in late 2020. We will advise our decision on this soon.

Next year we will be in Wellington: The 2021 HiNZ conference will be held in Wellington on 29 November to 1 December 2021. Save the date now!
