Ora Compass Health and 20 affiliated general practices’ websites are up and running again following a cyber hack earlier this month.

The Wellington primary health organisation became aware that a server had become compromised on 5 August and it was taken offline.

According to the NZ Herald, the hacker hit a number of government websites in the US, UK and New Zealand.

Ora Compass Health acting chief executive Justine Thorpe says, “Our website is up and running for the most part, but we continue to test and work on some areas.

“The cyber event has provided an opportunity for us to expedite our ICT cloud migration work programme.

“While most of the components of our website are up and running, as well as practice websites, we are continuing to test our system to ensure all functionality has been restored and is secure.”
